Cyclocross and Gravelbiking (Recreational) This has to be the most physically intense sport ever invented. It's high speed bicycle racing on a short off road course or riding the off pavement rides on gravel like : "Unbound Gravel". We also have a dedicated Racing forum for the Cyclocross Hard Core Racers.

The fastest cyclocross bike on the road...

With the proper equipment switch like tires, what do you guys recommend is the fastest complete cyclocross bike on the market. I am a speed demon, I want to pass everyone on the roads and maybe trip up my roadie friends with a dirt trail shortcut. I also find the security of switching to wider tires to manage rough NYC streets, comforting.

It's not about the bike.

It's the legs.

The fastest CX bike...That can't be answered, but a fast CX bike for mostly street use would be light & have the geometry of a road bike. The Jamis Supernova comes to mind.

I'm sorry, let my rephrase my question. What do you guys think are good cyclocross bikes that have the similar geometry of a road bike, making it perform on par with road bikes on the road with the proper tires.

+1 on the Supernova, light for a cyclocross bike at 18lbs.

If you want a rugged road bike, look at something like the Surly Pacer.

My Santacruz is pretty fast on the road, the frame is light and stiff.

BMC makes the only bikes with tons of graphics that aren't hideous.
