Cyclocross and Gravelbiking (Recreational) This has to be the most physically intense sport ever invented. It's high speed bicycle racing on a short off road course or riding the off pavement rides on gravel like : "Unbound Gravel". We also have a dedicated Racing forum for the Cyclocross Hard Core Racers.

SSCXWC....come on out.

SSCXWC....come on out.

There is one month to build up those SingleSpeed CX bikes you have always wanted to ride and come out to the muddy, sloppy, mushy, Second annual-SSCXWC...!

This year promises to be....more filling....w/ more wackiness...more muddiness...more zaniness
..... and less clothing...and all on one gear.
New Location....New qualifiers....New FUN.

You all heard about the tequila shortcut right?
The paint ball gun/dodge ball field of enforcers.....?
the downhill jump?....
the half naked lady running all around the course...?

come on...you know you want to.

As a paintball player, I'm morbidly curious about how they run the paintball/dodgeball field. All I can imagine is lawsuit after lawsuit. xD

Sounds like fun, I'll be watching to hear stories from it!

Last year I was just riding along and bang I got hit by a ball on my head, I did not even know that they were doing it, I was just concentrating on the race.
Luckily I did not get hit by the paintball, and did not see the Tequila bar until it was closed, I would have finished tired and drunk. Beer was enough.
Fun times....

paintball/dogdeball enforcers...

so yeah the dodge ball/paint ball enforcers would unload on you IF and only IF you tried to fly through the shortcut w/out taking a shot of tequila...The one and only paintball enforcer was strictly told to only shoot at cheaters and aim low.....although once we ran out of booze it became a free for all.
You know how it can be. Not sure what this year holds as of yet...still working on the details.....but i promise it's not to be missed. I just wanted to remind you all that is was coming up around the corner.

Last year there were over 100 riders in the Saturday qualification TT.
On Sunday there is going to be almost 1000 for the Cross Crusade and the WC event.

no-1, dodge balls were not at the short cut......but I am sure by then it was all blurry for most of the people, you forgot to point out the reverse start, that was the best thing I have ever witness at a "race", looking forward to see what the twisted mind of our "organizers" will do this time.
Ciao
Paolo

And of course....the ol' switch around start was a classic....boy the look on the faces once that was mentioned....HA! SO FUNNY.
