Windproof underwear recommendations
I've got plenty of clothes, plenty of options, I'm warm everywhere except my man business feels, for lack of a better term "exposed" even with a wool base layer and soft shell or hard shell outer layer.
I'm looking for a pair of wind blocking short leg undergarment/briefs. as a first layer.
Who's got a recommendation?

A base layer - next to the skin, like underwear - shouldn't really be providing wind protection. It's job is to move moisture outward so your body can regulate its temperature. Your outermost layer (pants) isn't doing its job, if the wind is getting in and carrying your heat away from this area. Look into pants that will keep the draft out without compromising your underwear's ability to wick moisture and keep you comfortable, line your pants with another layer, or consider moving to a less upright position where the breeze won't really reach you there to begin with.

I wear tights over bike shorts, and all the Performance tights I've tried work to block the wind. That's one reason I go to tights over warmers below 45 degrees (F); with only bike shorts, even with chamois, it gets chilly real quick.

I wear a pair of merino/poly blend long-johns gasp under my bike shorts when it's freezing cold out. They're not bulky, they don't seem to contribute to any problems for me, and as a base layer they're fine for wicking moisture and retaining warmth. Those, my bibs, and a pair of Novara rain/wind pants and I'm usually fine down to the low 30s.
If you're really really freezing down there and want to solve the issue, take your shorts to a tailor who'll work on sportswear. Unstitch the front of the padding and have 'em stitch a layer of tyvek between the padding and the lycra. Your junk might crinkle a bit when you walk around, but you'll be windproof and increase your R-value.

I just doubled up on the whitey tighties....2 pair worked for me. I shower and change at work. The outer pair gets used again on the way home...

Thanks man! I like Craft stuff a lot. I have a some of their wind stop gear and it works well. For some reason I had not seen or found this one. But better yet it's good to hear first hand from an actual user that it works.

I use a lightweight breif with a windproof panel in front. I believe it is made by Brooks for runners, but it works fine running and riding.

What about windproof pants, like the REI Novarra Headwind? Wind blocking in front, very breathable in the back. Unless you really want bulletproof undies...
