Dawes Haymaker 1000 transmission parts
hope you guys can help me out. i have a dawes haymaker 1000 i bought new in 2016 and i am looking to replace the transmission parts such as the rear sprocket assembly,(is that a cassette or freewheel?) i know the chain that fits is a kmc z72 as i have already done so. i'm totally in the dark as to the chainwheel on this bike below are the published specs

thanks for the answer. as far as my wanting to know the chainring assembly and crankset, i wan't to be prepared in case the chain skips sometime in the future after replacing the cassette and chain. don't the teeth also wear out on the chainrings, after awhile?

Chainrings wear much more slowly than cassette cogs. I have chainrings that came with my 1974 Raleigh Professional that are still in good shape

You'll go through quite a few cassettes before you wear out a chainring. The only one I've ever replaced where I knew its mileage had about 25K miles on it. And in that case, there were no problems with the chain skipping or sucking, it just got noisy.

Have found that some with brands, chainrings don't last (FSA 7005 innners being one, have had a few as OEM fit on bikes) vs other Shimano, which last a lot longer.
Material they are made from, conditions ridden in and maintenance(or lack of) will all play a big factor in how long they will last
