Death, destructure, and mayhem. Or for the optimistic, fixer-uppers in search of some TLC.

I'm surprised what these people are asking, not sure who is stupider people selling or someone potentially buying. I guess with the masi you at least get some parts.

That Masi was local, I thought about it, but the end result would still be a bike that is too small for me. It pained me to see it like that.

Pains me, too. Hey, maybe Scooper could fix that Masi since taking that framebuilding course!
At least the Dura Ace group and other parts still have value. Frame could make nice garage wall art?

Getting a columbus frame Masi with 8 sp dura ace for 350 (which is an ASKING price) isn't stupid at all. The parts and wheels are worth that easily. I have no idea what having a frame builder fix that would cost, but if it's under $600 it ends up a very good deal.

Steel frames are fixable gang. All it takes is money. Sometimes way too much. The buyer just has to be honest with themselves about their abilty to fix or hire. The seller needs to be honest and point out the defect. No misrepresentation, no foul. Law will not always read that way, but it certainly works that way in our collectable car/sailboat circles. Bikes usually follow that model. I said usually.
