Big sale on ONE SHOT at the local art supply store. Even more $$ if you are an instructor somewhere. The wine classes I teach count!!

Anyway, I've used one shot for filling in pantograph and it is awesome. Takes a day+ to dry before clear coat is applied, but what is time.

Anyway, at these prices, I'm wondering the following:

1, has anybody painted a frame with one shot.
2, one shot has some build in hardeners, but I suppose more could be added to quicken dry time plus UV protection
3, One Shot, as a paint designed for pin striping/sign painting (vertical) it is thick, thick like milk. Should or could it be thinned down?

I would borrow a friend's spray gun to do this if I do.

Hey, I called my local industrial coatings store and was quoted $160 for a PINT of the metallic violet I need. Then I saw this sale. Heck, add some metallics and go for it I'm tempted.

I can't speak to the 1 Shot paint but a sprayed paint will need to be thin enough to move through the gun and also flow out once on the intended surface. Given your description I would think this paint would need some thinning. As to hardeners protecting from UV effects this is the first time I have heard of that. IME hardeners do quicken the time to fully cure the paint but at the expense of ultimate durability.

I suggest some experimentation on old tubes to learn how the paint, the gun, the conditions (temps) and your "system" all work before spraying an actual frame. Some have said that doing good frame painting is harder, more care and skill, than making the frame to begin with. The little I have done painting I will agree. Andy
