how to remover cutters from VAR 32 headest reamer/facer
Hi,
I picked up a used VAR 32 headset reamer/facer and I am not sure how to remove the cutters from it.
I can see wrench flats on the guide (below the cutters), but I could not get it to budge. I even tried putting these flats in a bench vise (copper jaws) and turned the tool handle, but still zero movement.
Can anyone advise what the best way to remove this is?
Thanks,
Bruce.

The big thing that looks like a nut is one. It has a right hand thread. Probably rusted on. This is a common issue where people use water/soluble oil cutting fluid. The fluid wicks in and corrodes the tool over time. You can try some gentle heat via a propane torch, or a penetrating oil. Do they sell Kroil in France?

I put the tool back in the vice, and this time I was able to unscrew it. I think I was probably being a bit timid on them before.
Here is view of the disassembled tool
The facer is marked 970 ARS VAR 00. Does anyone know what these markings mean? Is this the 37DL cutter?
The reamer is marked ARS VAR CD 03210-33,8 This is the code used in the current VAR catalog for the 1 1/8" reamer.
