Road Cycling “It is by riding a bicycle that you learn the contours of a country best, since you have to sweat up the hills and coast down them. Thus you remember them as they actually are, while in a motor car only a high hill impresses you, and you have no such accurate remembrance of country you have driven through as you gain by riding a bicycle.” -- Ernest Hemingway

My TT bike runs both cables and housings through the top tube, down the downtube, and has a bracket that holds both along the bottom of the BB away from the PF30.

Of course, if he would have joined the 21st century and gone electric, this point is moot.

My bike is of the 21st century and it has less electronics than DougRNS's back.

You got me. He doesn't do much work on his bikes, he takes them to a shop so I'm guessing that's where it was installed.
But yeah, there is a guide on the front of the bb. And near as I can tell it the cable bends around the axel. Now that I think about it ,it might be the front mech s cable that cut it.

We actually did point this out to him after we were sure he was OK. We don't want to anger him as he is a track guy and an absolute Beast on a bike.

Did yours slice the spindle of your Quarq in half?

1. What is something DougRNS will never say?

2. In other news Dylan went electric in 1965. I'm just thinking about it 56 years later.

Are 1 and 2 related? You decide.

My recently-replaced cables are in their appointed channels, safely distant from the drive train.

Are you sure, or are you just taking your mechanic's word for it?
