I have one. Don't waste your money. It looks nice, but the sound is really wimpy compared to a basic Crane bell. The Spurcycle bell is a lot louder. The Oi also feels kind of flimsy.

I too base my purchasing decisions off of one isolated opinion posted on the internet. 
But seeing as we appear to be waxing illogical, I like my Knog Oi, so would that not counter the other guy's negative opinion, returning us all to square one?

Well, you could always look more widely on the internut.
So, the Knog Oi is a fantastic bell for people who believe bike bells are useless but are legally required to have one.
If you find bells useful, the Knog Oi is not too. Great looks, nice tone, but disappointing dB.
Particularly if you like a Crane Suza - wonderful tone, great sustain, good volume - but BIG.
Or Spurcycle - even better volume, great sustain, a few unpleasant harmonics, can be stealth.
Anyhow, I haven't figured out what I'm going to do with my Knog Oi, it currently lives in its box.
I now have a Spurcycle Frankenbell on my Nobel Steel. Or is it Noble Steal?

Yeah, mine arrived as well. I installed it on my road bike the other day, but one of the cables interferes with it. I had to tilt it to a funny angle to get it to work. Overall, I'm not impressed. It wasn't worth waiting that long for in comparison to other bells on the market.

I still find my Catseye Bell to be amazing both in value and alerting others to my presence. Not sure what the fuss is all about.

I want an Oi bell, simply because my Crane bell catches and snags my reflective vest, ... , ... I don't care if it's not loud, I've got an air horn for those situations.

My cheap ($1.50) and small bike bell from China was loud enough this past weekend to alert a jogger to my presence on a MUP, and he was even wearing headphones. After I gave him a couple dings he waved acknowledging that I was there. So I'll probably stick with it, though I like the looks of the Oi.

I used to have a sounder out of an old smoke alarm. Was fun hooking that thing up to a battery, was loud too. Would make an excellent electric bike horn if you could find an elegant way to mount it. I imagine the newer ear-piercing piezo elements might work, too.

I don't have that element any more, but I do have a piezo from a newer smoke alarm. I likely won't try hooking it up as a bike horn though. But think about that loud, high pitched beep. Might get you noticed.

I also don't think most piezo emitters will be very effective, because people won't recognize that chirp as an indicator that a bicycle is approaching. What we need are just plain automotive horns, whose sole drawback is their physical properties-- they're big and heavy. But people know what they mean. Airzound is close to fulfilling my needs, but has too many caveats for how often I actually need to use it.

I've put a Knog Oi on both of my bikes, and it's the perfect solution for my rides, which is mostly on a car-free bike path. Most importantly, it's small and nearly invisible (not ugly) on the handlebars. When I do need to use it to alert pedestrians on the bike path (not MUP, bike-only), it's loud enough to be effective, and pleasant enough not to scare them. I've found it works much better than yelling "on your left".
