Riding Carbondale/Aspen Co.
I'll be in Carbondale this week and have both a road bike and a mountain bike. Would appreciate multiple suggestions for rides. Probably about 2hr rides would be good.
Thanks!!
Thanks!!

- road cycling has incredible opportunities all around the residential mountains. Also there is the roaring fork bile path thats flat and lower elevation.
- gravel riding was a blast on the unpaved mountain roads and the BLM access roads. There are tons of well groomed unpaved roads even within the residential/ranch areas.
- there are lots of mtb singletrack spots within 20min of Carbondale, but we ended up going to Snowmass and renting downhill bikes(and armor) for a day. Most fun on 2 wheels ive had!

If you ride beyond Aspen, you can see how far up Independence Pass you can get before it's closed to snow (check at Aspen LBS). Going from Carbondale towards Redstone on CO 133 you can climb McClure Pass which is open all year.
