Rim found to be true - after wheel being tacoed after crash

I just took a wheel apart after I was convinced that it is irreversibly bent after a crash. The wheel was laterally untrue of about 3/4 inch with not much adjustability, since the nipples were at the spoke threads ends
To my surprise, after dismantling the rim was found to be totally true (when holding against a new one - not the slightest gap).
I think there is only one explanation ( I don't think there is another) , that the spokes have irreversibly been deformed (rather tan the rim). That again is against all what I have repeatedly read, that in a crash the rim always gives before the spokes. The spokes were DT-revolution spokes, (which I think explains here the exception of the rule) since they are so thin and stretchy.
Any comments?

Yes.
Your title is misleading.
Your wheel was not tacoed.

Enjoy

A tacoed wheel is what you get when your pissed off girlfriend says with a smile, "Here honey, let me help you with that." Pops the front quick release and proceeds to wrap your wheel around your head.

Any other, more technical comments, than Mrrabbit's relationship experiences?

You mean like the technical aspects of the culinary art of taco preparation?

I find that putting the cheese directly on top of the hot meat allows it to soften and release more complex flavors.
Others prefer to add the cheese last but I believe that preference is based on aesthetics.
Which opens the debate of whether or not good LOOKING food tastes better.

Enjoy

That's more potato chip than taco. I like mine lightly salted.

Taco'd. (and then some) New spokes ain't gonna fix that. Prayer and divine intervention are the only hope.

Pringle'd. With some skill and effort, it can be saved.
