I'm coming to this conversation a bit late, but I did little to no research before I bought my used 1989 65cm Nobilette frame off of eBay -- turns out it is all SLX and with my 6'5" and 205lb frame, I'd say it rides great -- I take it on dirt roads, long distance rides, anything and everything and have been happy. Here's some pictures, but my experience is just that, experience. It's hard to say how it climbs, since this is the only nice bike in my size that I've ever had -- i have nothing to compare it to, but I enjoy it!
