Campy brake lever ID:

I'm sure the first pair is Athena/Chorus from the late 80's but what's the second pair?

The Second mystery pair:

the bottom ones actually look like '95ish Athena. the '95 small parts catalogue (yeah like there are EVER spare parts) shows a Athena/Veloce lever to look like this. the difference between the two is a difference in the lever itself.

the top ones may be a later Record (the C or Corse prefix being dropped by the mid '90s) again the '95 catalogue shows a Record lever as having a openig and a slot at the top of the body.

are they going to be in a different thread later?

The top ones are dead on for the Chorus/Athena levers (same part #) in my '88 catalog. I believe Record levers had the cable anchor in a different position but I'm not sure. The hood from the bottom pair perfectly fits the top pair.

As for your other question...I dont know, I have 4 sets of Campy levers in various condition, 1 SR pair, 1 NR pair and the 2 pairs in this thread. Only 1 lever has a hood.

the '88 levers should be the type that need the little 'plate' to make them aero, and also I do not recall seeing the slot in the older levers.

this is from that '91ish parts biik I stupidly bought.

It appears my levers are 'Chorus' as they have the cable slot in front of the main body whereas Athena levers do not:
