New model Dahon mini 349 bike
Dahon seems to have a new model called the mini 349, which looks similar to the K3 Plus, but with 349 rims, possibly deltec tension cable (website doesn't show it, but the press release has it), and eyelets for rear rack.
https://dahon.com/bikes/mini-349/
I would be curious to know the wheelbase, chainstay, seatpost angle, etc. in comparison with standard 20" models and the K3 plus.
A youtube video comparing the 2
I'm suspicious of the parallel spoke nipple holes in the rim. Aren't they more susceptible to fracturing the rim, and the load distribution isn't as uniform as a standard rim?
The use of 349 rim is also not so convenient as the range of available tires are more limited than compared to 355.
The press release shows a seatpost stem with a pressure gauge for their built in pump. I wonder how effective it is, or wither it gets in the way of the clamping.

Not sure this brings anything new to the table. Litepro and FnHon have offered framesets that can be built with 349 wheels for years, in the same ilk as this 'new' Dahon bike. Here's a Gust with 349 wheels...
Why would I buy this 'new' Dahon when i can build myself a better specced model for the same or even less money?

I'm missing your point here, if you want to re-express it.

Before the Trublu, there was and still is the Greenspeed Scorcher 40x349 tires (several versions, with or without kevlar protection): high pressure wide tire ultra fast, the fastest tire in ETRTO349 (the Trublu is supposed to be as fast ??).

FnHon and Litepro didn't invent the 349 nor do they have any exclusive on it's use. Lotsa folding bike companies use ISO349 wheels/tires, and have for a half century or more. Dahon has other 349 models. Guessing they had some customer/dealer feed back for a complete, ready-to-ride model like this.

Maybe because the post is specifically about a new Dahon bike, and not constantly about another brand.
