My first touring! Woohoo!
SO! After a good amount of research, I purchased Jamis Aurora. I took it for a modest 15 mile ride around DC's monuments. It felt fantastic. Mainly I commute about 70 miles a week. But I am looking forward to putting many more (and longer) miles on it over breaks and weekends.

Congrats...
I'm a bit envious because I was looking at the Aurora for quite some time. Unfortunately, I could not swing it due to some other things going on. Not to mention I was also needing to buy a bike for my wife and son. Though I did manage to get a new Trek 7.2 FX and it meets my needs perfectly.
Congrats and enjoy

The Aurira is a nice ride.... had one years ago as a commuter.... not sure why I got rid of it (was probably bored) ... in any event... should suit you well.
