This is the shifter that will index (almost) perfectly with Shimano 8s. I have the 7s/8s/F mate to the left XC PRO shifter (in the original post) on a gravel rig at the moment and it's quite nice.

I have these and IMHO they are the best thumbshifters ever made. They work exactly for Shimano 7 & 8 speed setups.
