indoor parking was a luxury for me, available only when I was at EMC (electromagnetic compatibility) lab. The bike was parked behind the large test chamber, hidden from the world, which was nice.
otherwise, at the main engineering building, I shared a bike rack with one or two other folks. On the rainy days, I'd bring a cover to put over the bike.
On the plus side, it was relatively close to an entrance and no one ever bothered it.

Thank you for this thread. Secure bicycle parking can be a genuine challenge. Companies spend big bucks on car parking for employees, then too often neglect those of us who bike to work. Offices with warehouse or storage space tend to be the simplest. I did have a large private office at one jobsite and rigged up a bicycle hanging hook on the standard suspended acoustic tile ceiling -- worked like a champ, with the bike hanging vertically behind my desk.

My company has bike stands outside, uncovered. In the PNW. Most of us that ride to work just park it in the cubical jungle.

No photo yet but my wife started back to the office (Goddard Space Flight Center) yesterday, and is already talking about cycling the 2-1/4 miles each way some days. No one has ever complained about her bringing the bike right into the (oversized IMHO) office, but over the pandemic she got a new boss and a new boss's boss, so that might change.

I am fortunate to place this right outside my office. Rain not an issue here. Like Bargo68 mentioned it is all the thievery in my neck of the woods thats the concern. A note to the observant: Yes my 1982 Univega is quite a collection of eras. With the brake cables coming out the tops of the levers, indexed shifting, and most notabably the e-bike conversion. This bike has been with me 40 years, and it continues to serve me well. Think of it as B-52 that has gone through several life cycles.

In all honesty, all of my fendered bikes have a mechanical issue right now, so I ride the one that's rideable. Job, family, torch projects for other people, yada, yada, yada not enough time. Fixing that in 288 days...
But yeah, Internationals are chameleons, you can build them up many a different way, pretty much all of them are smooth riders.

Noting all the people bringing their bike inside at work, there's another reason to do so. People stop by and want to talk about it. I think I've talked a couple people who were on the fence about commuting to try it out. I also met @aggiegrads that way, he commutes by bike as well. We didn't know it when we met but @Andy_K is a common friend.

There's also an outdoor covered area, but it's a much longer walk from there to my desk, so I typically park here.
Officially, we're not supposed to bring non-folding bikes into the building. I'm pretty sure right now I could bring my entire stable in and stash each one in an empty cubicle and no one would notice. It's a ghost town right now.

It's my "dedicated" Cino/Eroica bike, so no fenders. I tend to ride one bike for awhile, so this one has gotten a lot of love lately. It got me up the infamous Cypress wall at Eroica California without walking a few weeks ago, the first time I'd been able to do that.
In all honesty, all of my fendered bikes have a mechanical issue right now, so I ride the one that's rideable. Job, family, torch projects for other people, yada, yada, yada not enough time. Fixing that in 288 days...
But yeah, Internationals are chameleons, you can build them up many a different way, pretty much all of them are smooth riders.

For years I have used double wall hooks not mounted to the wall but suspended from the ceiling with rope. I ride my bike in and hook it under the bars with the stem between. The bikes don't fall over and the rear wheel remains touching the ground so there is not that much weight suspended. I don't use kick stands.

I would gladly park my bike outside if only I could find a job locally that pays what I drive 25 miles one way for. Sadly I own a building two blocks from my house that I lease to my wife's practice where I could put my bike anywhere I pleased.

I wish I had a picture but Nike had bike racks at the entrance to their buildings AND basic tools dangling from very sturdy cables that were free to use. Nice!

The reason to go to 650b is to get 42mm wide tires in. There's an old post of mine somewhere where I detailed my first 650b conversion on an International that I ran 42s on. It was a '71 International, which as far as I can tell has slightly longer chainstays than '73 onwards. The pic I posted is a '74 built frameset, I'd have to indent the stays to get 42's on them.
