Diverge STR or Revolt X Advanced pro 1
Diverge STR or Revolt X Advanced pro 1. What would you get. Both similarly priced.
The Diverge STR has Shimano GRX RX820 and the gimmicky suspension. The Revolt X has sram rival. The Diverge with sram rival costs 2.5K more.

You were unwilling to throw away a partial roll of $20 tubeless tape even though you dislike it.
Based on that, I would say the less expensive bike is best for you.

But it wasn’t just a single roll. I have several Muc off in diff widths.
I also loaned my buddy my carbon Giant bike and never saw it again. That was a year ago. So no, I’m not as cheapo as I make it out to be. Use that as an excuse to shop another one.

If it were me, that person would no longer be someone I would refer to as a "buddy". Maybe I'm being too sensitive.

If you are determined to buy from your LBS, I understand the limitation. That said, I would be inclined to venture further if it meant finding what I really wanted. YMMV.

Yes I totally understand and I’m sure the majority of members would do the same. I just left a shop and the employees didn’t recommend either one. However they were quite enthusiastic about the bikes in stock, citing those two are far too heavy for asphalt.

It is a common tendency of retailers to push what they have on hand, which sometimes includes knocking down the products of their competitors. Did they have any bikes that excited you?
