Would not be surprised to hear the announcement that the Vuelta is going to be stopped.

Given the acorn-free way my Vuelta picks have evolved, I may need to shift to busking.

If that doesn't work, beware the interpretive dance.

Stage 8
Well that didn't work out too well for Movistar.
Great final climb and the best man won.

Let me go out on a limb and predict Bennett in a sprint finish drags me dominatingly and defiantly into the top 12,000.

Yessss!
Bit of pushing just before the corner on the inside from DQT trying not to be taken to the barrier. Don't know who the DQT rider was leaning over on maybe a Trekie, possibly Sam.
Edit: Yes it was Bennett v Liepins of Trek in the last 500m. Good to see he can boss it a bit in the bunch.

Looks like Bennett is relegated for using his shoulder on the run in. Stage awarded to Ackermann (Bora)

halfway point of this vuelta...
teams MTBrider and Mucho Allez bringing their last week of the giro battle onto spanish soil with MTBrider just ahead. Zizi Pro Cycling Team is in third currently
but poised to leapfrog one or both. all three teams look to have their rosters relatively intact.
stage ten looks to have that classics styled finishing climb. maybe one of the dcq or lotto boys snatches it but picking dan martin to take it.
stages eleven and twelve look to absolutely detonate the race. we'll see what the survivors have left for that itt with the sting in the tail on stage thirteen (after the rest day).

Speaking of old and forgetful, maybe Movistar will mix it up and I dearly hope Valverde will feature prominently.

I'm not sure if I mentioned this before, but perhaps Valverde will do something tomorrow.

G Martin and his climber's jersey are what's keeping me in the top 12,000. I thought he was in my team. Checked just now and am glad to see I haven't lost my mind.
Yes, Mas is a better bet, but it's only just come to me. Maybe Valverde does something.

Carapaz certainly needs to throw down today if he's going to win overall, with the upcoming TT and probably no more wardrobe malfunctions for Roglic.
A pity Sep Kuss won't get to stretch his legs.

Kuss could have easily won the stage.
