Chain guard attached to the seat tube
Hello
I am going to convert my bike into an e-bike with a small Bafang kit. However, I am a little bit worried about the chain guard that I really want to keep. Currently, the chain guard is attached to the bottom bracket. When the new motor is installed, there is no way to attach the chain guard to the bottom bracket anymore. Would it be somehow possible to attach it to the seat tube? Especially since the front derailleur will be removed? I don't have to keep my old chain guard but I need protection since I am commuting every day. Or are there other options?

Looks like it would be easy to attached it to the front derailuer hanger.

I would rather take off the front derailleur and connect the chain guard directly to the seat tube. Or use some other method to keep my pants free from the oil and dust from the chain. Any ideas? Thanks.

Take about five minutes to bend and fab a bracket to attach that to the seat tube.
