A Kabuki was my first ten-speed as a kid. I have had this one for several years. They were made in stainless steel, Chromoly, aluminum, and Hi-tensile steel with cast aluminum lugs. This is the lower cost Hi-Tensile version. The only original parts are the frame and seat post.

In the mid seventies my wife and I bought a couple of bikes. She wanted the Submarinerand I thought it was too heavy so I ordered a Diamond Formula . That bike was(is) a very light bike and my transportation for a couple of years . I could take that thing anywhere. I still have it.

This one has the regular pointy lugs , not bonded lugs. Not sure of the steel but plain gage , still , very light compared to my old Varsity , and much nicer geometry.

Long gone winter bike. A well used "Guaranteed not 531" Gitane Interclub. It was moderately crusty, but rode great. Interclubs are underrated.

Thread started 13 years ago. Might as well show this one.

I've had a few 'see-me' orange bike's, but this particular one pops pretty good at night, too. Big 700x42 rubber with reflective sidewalls and a two stage dynamo powered headlight. Comfortable and effortlessly plows along gravel paths with 8 speed IGH, multi position bars.

I think we have another orange bikes for October thread somewhere, but this one appears to have seniority. Since I haven't posted my orange bikes here, I guess I better.

I posted the head badge from this one in another thread earlier today.

And the seat cluster from this one.

This one? Well, it is orange.

1982 Medici Pro Strada
I sold this bike earlier this year. I loved it , but it was just too small for me. I miss having it around.

The farm I used to work at had a Kubota tractor in the same orange colour!

Yes . it is! I have one that I had repainted to match the original and the guy had to order special powder to get it as close as possible. I put early style graphics on it and built it up to my own liking

I've posted pics of the bike that Gordon Borthwick made for me back around 1990. The fillet brazed construction was novel at that time, but started to look a lot like the new Cannondales and eventually the carbon fiber frames too. It's accumulated a ton of miles and keeps on going!
I thought I'd post some pics that don't show off the bike too well, since you've probably already seen the photos that do.

Steve, very nice and I can see why you would want to ride the heck out of it. I love the harlequin wrap, I did one bike once and it is a bit of a brain teaser . Joe

The harlequin wrap is a fun thing to play with, but is a lot more work. I'm on my second version, after the original orange and black tape faded quite a bit. I decided to avoid the issue of trying to match the orange tape to the paint and just went with brown and black tape this time.
I think this latest wrap is a bit better, but I still have troubles squeezing tape together to make it around the corners. I also tend to just worry about how the upper half (the side facing the sky) looks, with the result being that the lower surface (facing down) is kind of a mess. Oh well.

Here's the current version with brown and black tape...

Yep, seance, sacrificed a few chickens, threatened to find an orange Colnago and paint it purple or black, no luck yet.
