Trouble likely coming my way
You may hear cries of help from me. While making the bed this morning I noticed this grease stain of unmistaken origin on the duvet cover. Bike maintenance area is adjacent to our laundry area. Apparently she hasn’t noticed yet. — Dan

I recently spilled bacon grease on a wood deck. Krud Cutter fixed it in about 10 minutes.

If you can find some old-fashioned GoJo, you can try rubbing that into the grease and then washing the cover. I don't know if the orange pumice stuff will work or not. Might be noticeably gritty.

Saturate the stains with degreasing hand cleaner (e.g., Goop) and wash. Might take a couple of runs, but it will come out. This technique has restored tranquility in our home many times and has even been adopted by spouse for grease stains not of my making.

I'd fess up before trying any DIY cleaning without her knowledge. If the DIY cleanup doesn't go well, it will be orders of magnitude worse. In other words, when in a hole, stop digging!
There's also that chance it really didn't come from your bike. But it does look like it had to brush up against the cassette for that mark. How in the world would that have happened. Unless of course, you are the moron your wife undoubtedly believes your are.

Try Carbona Stain Devils #7 for motor oil. I’ve had good luck with using it (and the other Carbona products) on laundry.

It has been my experience that Odorized Mineral Spirits will effectively break up the grease quite easily. The problem is to then remove the OMS and the grime that is in suspension. Rubbing/scrubbing in straight Dawn dish detergent into the stain area and virorously thoroughly hand washing the affected area in a few inches of water in a bathroom sink seems to work pretty well at displacing the OMS/grime. Then a fresh water rinse to remove the Dawn. From there straight into the washing machine on hot.
The problem, I think is that standard laundry detergent works on "not oil" while dish soap works on cooking oil. So using a standard laundry detergent is the wrong kind of detergent for the job in this case.

Can you replace it? Might be the cheapest option. If not, consider taking it to a dry cleaner. They may be able to get the stain out without damaging the cover.
