jdawginsc I was able to relax the collar this afternoon and the 26.6 slips in nicely. I cleaned a bit of a burr out in the collar area, and then tried to add some masking tape to get a bit larger seat post size, but at 26.7 the post was starting to bind up a bit. So I am leaning toward the 26.6 measurement. A little bit of a bugger to find a 26.6 so I will keep looking for a spare for the Ochsner. Smiles, MH

Although somehow I missed the UPS person today, I am thinking of running a brake hone in the tube, checking the ears for straightness then measuring before looking.

I think I have Laprade and/or Sugino posts in 26.4-26.6 that would do for now, and will just wait for something interesting.

The Modolos are likely to find a new home.

i haven’t decided what I want to do with the build...perhaps retro-modded with newer Campy.

The Superbe Pro first generation is a gem, though I don’t have other pieces other than a few sets of levers.

It has an interesting mix of included parts for sure!

Should you wish to have 64-40 HB instead of the 65-40. I would be happy to swap.
If you have 64-42 that could be arranged.

The good the meh and the bad

The good. It is not a Fauxsin...it is a Ciocc. It is 56 CTC! Perfect! The frame seems intact except perhaps the brake guides. Lots of extra goodies including a drilled out BB adjustable cup. Mystery for later

The meh. Everything but the hoods on the Modolos are salvageable. They left me a connected chain...eye roll...the cables look original to the bike for goodness sakes. The packing was a maze.

The bad. I am going to need a lot more evaporust.

The questions...can the stem be removed. Is the paint which is amazing in places be salvaged and touched up. Anthracite is an odd little color.

What the fork...that’s a lot of rust bunnies

Fork tips are in great shape

Everything is attached in a web of confusion. Note antique cables

Oddly, the bottom of the bottom bracket...bottom is cleaner than the top rust wise

I think we are okay here but the ferrule is likely fused and about to become petrified...as am I to remove it...

Rear drops in good shape. Stays not.

Actually not horrible. A little derusting and touch up here.

Eek...! Maybe I need some superglue here.

I am saving the mockba darn it.

Looks somewhat parallel...might not be too pinched. Measurements a bit later.

Uh oh...is that paint or moss or lichens...we shall see

I totally dig it. If you can save the chromes from the "brown water lilies" it will be a more than decent bike. As for the paint, as far as I know Pelizzoli is still in business and I read about (non CIÖCC/Pelizzoli) bikes they have resprayed, shooting them a google translated mail doesn't cost a lot, if they could be of any help whether with directions or providing a touch up. Congrats!

Well Dawg,
I still think the fork should come here for a re-chrome now, before you try to build it up. It will be money ahead if you ever decide to do any other treatment to the frame paint. JMHO, MH

Actually started the quick glo treatment to see what I have. It might be okay!

I am subscribed!
I think it may be better than the first blush says...but be prepared for some bad surprises, I hope you avoid them all!
Could be worse: my very crusty San Cristobal basket case was...very crusty!
The good news is "Anthracite" was probably the #1 color for CIOCC frames, so should be easy to get help with color matching. But I can't help cause mine were not Anthracite!
I think you're gonna like this bike when you get 'er dun!

Stuck stem is first issue that seems somewhat worrisome, but will kroil the heck out of it.

Some of the chrome is coming clean. Working it.

Some ughs, surprises and expected ughs

Ughs.
Stem seized, odd rear brake barrel bolt that is stripped methinks.

Surprises.
I think patina is salvageable...maybe
Takes a 27.2 seatpost...how they measured that badly not sure. Might even be 27.3 eek.
Unkown to me bottom bracket

Expected.
Rusty Modolos, not RustyJames or Rustystrings62
Rust and more rust

27.2 seatpost. Surprise! Rust

Brake guides rusted but intact. Gelled up.

Stucky stemmy, but Super Record HS

Anyone know what this BB is? Japanese maybe?

Other side

Weird and possibly stripped barrel bolt attachment. Poop.

Levers in perfect shape. Too bad I won’t be using them.

Gel on chrome experiment. Not much to lose here. Ciocc sticker!

Not as bad in this area as I thought. I hope

Ooo...able to bring out some chrome stay caps
