Race Tires?
Happy Friday racers!
Curious what ya'll are running these days for race tires?
My last set of tires were Pirelli PZero Velos. Great grip & cornering.
I've ran Conti's 4KSIIs in the past and like them a lot but the last set had that BS sidewall issue.

Kenda Kountach. I don't have the luxury of seperate race and training tires, and these work great for me. Love 'em.

Similar to this picture but over a wider area.
You've never had that issue?

I've had that from hitting rocks before. Had a string of them two seasons ago (and on the first ride on a Schwalbe Pro One tubeless!), but last year made it through unscathed.

The GP4k's have sidewall issues. Some people experience them and other people don't, I had sidewall failures on two new tires in one week once so I don't use them any more.

Gp 4ksii for road racing. A narrow conti supseronic + corsa speed for the tt bike.
As an f1 fan, I'd like to try the pirelli tires, but haven't seen em in person on any bikes yet.

Mine have looked like that before but never gave me any issues other than cosmetic. No increase in punctures or anything

Specialized Turbo Cotton with latex tubes for fast and comfy and good puncture resistance
I also like the IRC Formula Pro RBCC tubeless tyres (not as fast as the Turbo Cotton, but fast and there's something about these that make them special ... I have not been able to pinpoint it yet, and I'm not sure if it's the grip or the rolling resistance, but heck, I like these!)

That's good to know. Like I said, I really like the tires, but not that issue as it bugs me to know that something "could" be wrong when I'm diving down a hill/turn.
The Turbo Cottons are on my short list, I've been wanting to try them for a while now. I like hearing that they have good puncture resistance. I have a friend who uses them and all I ever see on Strava are pictures of him fixing flats.

My experience has been that they dont puncture up until 1700-2000km (they wear out a bit sooner than tyres such as Conti GP 4000 SII)
I rotate them at approx 800Km and at approx 1700km I start getting punctures .... thats when I get a new pair of tyres
(so instead of 3000km on GP4000, you will get approx 2000km on Turbo Cottons .... I do lots of miles and dont mind paying extra for these

I had some string issues with gp4ks but I just cut them and continue on. I'm tempted to try the vittoria g+ tires, but I can't say why. I get like 3000 miles + out of gp4k and I'm bigger than most of you.
