Post your bike-applicable inspiring quotation

In the spirit of the recent trivia thread, how about posting your favorite inspirational quote with an application to cycling? You know, those kinds of (often slightly cheesy) things you see on motivational posters?

Here's mine:

"A ship in harbor is safe, but that is not what ships are built for."
--John A. Shedd

That always comes to mind for me when I see a beautiful, immaculate old bike whose owner keeps it polished, spotless, perfectly tuned, and locked up indoors at all times.

Susan B. Anthony once said, "I think [bicycling] has done more to emancipate women than anything else in the world." A woman on a bicycle, the equal rights champion observed, presents "the picture of free and untrammeled womanhood." ...

Every time I see an adult on a bicycle, I no longer despair for the future of the human race. -- H. G. Wells

“When I got the bike I must have been the happiest boy in Liverpool, maybe the world.” — John Lennon.

“Life is like riding a bicycle. In order to keep your balance, you must keep moving.” — Albert Einstein.

Paraphrasing Davis Phinney, I didn't choose to have Parkinson's Disease, I can choose not to let it control my life.

Cycling has done much the same for me. It has made to possible to have a reasonably normal life, and keep my PD at a controllable level (with sinemet.)

Tell me- what is this "normal" you speak of?

I was a cyclist long before I developed Type 1 diabetes. Riding does good things for my blood sugar levels.
A good friend has Parkinson's and is dealing with it.
