Hi all, I'm new to the forum from Australia. I'm chasing up info on my old 5 star 70's Malvern Star road racing bike. I thought Malvern Star were made in Aussie. My bike has "British Made" under the crank. Thanking you PSR.

I don't know really yet I suspect that its the bottom bracket shell specifically that was British made.
All the parts, tubes, lugs, BB shells and so forth would have been made in the UK, sometimes Italy, and the bike would then have been made to fit a customer here in Australia.
Reynolds is the famous tubing used and that certainly wasn't made/drawn here in Australia.

Yes the link is playing up for me now as well. It worked when I searched for it and first viewed it.
All the individual parts that make up the frame will definitely have come from overseas and Britain would certainly have been the main source for us in Australia at the time.
I have a vintage custom made frame from the 70's made in Australia by Lennie Rogers and I remember noting that the dropouts were made by Campagnolo in Italy.

As AnthonyG says. The BB would have been "British Made". Same with the old Speedwell's.
I read somewhere that Bruce Small (from Malvern Star) did a deal with BSA to use their stuff on his bikes.
