Being sick does so suck!
Been trapped in the house for days now trying to get over a pretty nasty head/chest cold. Looking outside at the moment wishing I was rolling down the road. Put some miles in for me everyone. So sick of netflix, words with friends and pretty much doing nothing of use to the planet.

I hear you. I am sitting inside with major head\sinus stuff and it it was not for the throbbing pain when I move around I would be on the bike right now.

Get well soon. Yeah once you get into this cycling thing it's hard not to ride for a bit. I got my first road bike only in July last year but broke my arm in August and was out for six weeks (although I bought a trainer and used that for the last 2 weeks). Had the flu in October and was out for 3 weeks then, and I was on a family vacation in December - every time I really missed riding. I've actually recently ordered a folding bike to take care of riding-less vacations.

I'll join your chorus.
I came down with a head cold late Jan. that turned into a chest cold. I had it for 4 weeks. I kept riding a bit here & there, when finally, for one week in late Feb, I felt better.
Then, 2 weeks ago in early March, I came down with flu-like symptoms: body aches & pains, slight fever, chills, etc... I stayed home from work for 3 days. (Thankfully, I never had nausea, except for about 10-mins one morning.)
Now, after those 2 weeks, I finally feel almost normal: today was the first day I haven't had to blow my nose! I plan on riding into work tomorrow AM for my first ride in 14 days. Then, beginning my off-season training. Again.

Same here, going on a week, had a cyst removed from my tailbone last Saturday.
Am completely sick of the same things (netflix, sucking at words with friends) just want to get back to work...much less cycling as thats still a month out :/

I was sick for about three-fourths of the month of February; head cold followed up by what was probably Influenza B. It just happened to coincide with a recurrence of chondromalacia from over-doing it in January, so the rest off of the bike was probably for the best.
I did keep doing calisthenics and weight training during all but the worst of the sick days, and think I recovered better and faster for it.
Now the damn seasonal allergies are beginning to flare up, which is why one jersey pocket always has two or three Kleenex in it (just don't forget to take them out before doing the laundry :-( )

As another pacific nw resident, it has been very weird weatherwise, I think we are now tracking 10-15 degrees below normal for the past week and the winds are high too.
I am tired of sufferfest for sure.
