Road Cycling “It is by riding a bicycle that you learn the contours of a country best, since you have to sweat up the hills and coast down them. Thus you remember them as they actually are, while in a motor car only a high hill impresses you, and you have no such accurate remembrance of country you have driven through as you gain by riding a bicycle.” -- Ernest Hemingway

Need Input on Ebay Felt ASAP - town right next to mine!

https://cgi.ebay.com/2009-56cm-Felt-F...item19be5af57c

Thoughts on this bike? I've been considering upgrading from my 2005 Trek 1200 and I love the Felt bikes I've checked out at a local shop. I ride a 56 on the Trek - how does the geometry compare? I sent the seller a note to see if I can drop by and check it out. How much do you think this will end up going for?

Go to the trek site, and the felt site, and compare geometry.

Go to each site and look up the geometry. Viola.

And thanks for the heads up, this bike is only 90 minutes from me.

Sure - all's fair in war and ebay! I've been looking at the Z series geometry for the most part - but for the 10 minute trip it would be worth checking out.

I was just kidding with you. Just compare the Toptube, seattube and headtube lengths to see how they match up.

I can only find the toptube lengths with are within .3mm of eachother.

I think Felt recently had a recall. You should check it out.

The recall is only for the carbon forks with an aluminum steerer tube. This isn't one of them.

FYI, it took a guy in my area months to sell his 2006 F2/F3 (F3 frame with F2 components) on CL. He had it listed for $1600 and wouldn't budge on the price. I rode it. The headset was loose but there was nothing else wrong with it. eBay is a different animal, though. I'd say it would go for between $1600-$2000.

Which is probably the reason that when I emailed the seller asking if I could come see the bike, he said I could but made sure to tell me that he would not sell it outside of ebay (I never asked him to - just wanted to come over and take a better look at it and maybe get a test ride).

Crummy wheels for that level of frame/components. Adjust your bid accordingly.

FYI, the Felt I referenced was full DA 7800 and Easton EA90 wheels. Carbon bar and stem.

I'm sure the seller swapped out the wheels.. Make sure local pickup is an option, offer to pay cash on pickup, so you can check the bike out before giving him the money.. The market is so soft on higher end bikes, I;m sure this will not top 1500-1800.00.. The fact that the seller only has a handful of feedbacks will work in keeping the price down..

It looks like the listing has been taken down. Don't know what's up there.

Looks like these were the stock wheels on this bike in 2009?
