[help needed identifying] Pinarello build project.

I have another topic ”Pinarello Giro”
It’s been dumped down the memory hole, due to insctivity, and topic title doesn’t attract the people who may know.
The reason for a new topic is that I can not change the title of the original topic.

This is the frame, with fresh paint, still missing clearcoat.

This it it. Campagnolo dropouts, 130mm rear spacing,

Copy of original decal, chrome finish, original placement

Not original head badge, original is a decal but I like this thicker variant better.

This along with campy dropouts and Oria tubing is what throws people off the game

Dom’t mind the junk in the background. House is still a wip.

Oria ML34 tubing. Not original style of the decal, but that’s what Cyclomondo had.

Weight of the frame, size 58. (I know the scale is showing mL,)

it would ve very nice to know what it is.

The trouble is the known Pinarello catalogs only go up to ~1990, so anything after that things get a bit blurry.

Pinarello also went a bit crazy as the 90’s ramped up with numerous new models and no real consistency. For example; there’s a Giro on SVB, but it is Columbus tubing with top tube cable guides and Pinarello stamped dropouts, so different to yours.

I’m not sure what more info you need; you know the model and the tubing, only thing left to do is ride it!

You are right. I already put decals on it, it is what it is A Pinarello Something, or it used to be, now it is something else from that.

I'm actually curious, before you install a bottom bracket check the inside of the seat tube for rifling. This would indicate Columbus SLX tubing, and I know it's most likely Oria tubing, but there's a lot suggesting that's it's actually a Montello, which mostly had SLX tubing...mostly.

Can you make anything out of tjis photo?

Mannesmann Oria ml34 is barely readable on the fork leg.

Hmmm…inconclusive. Need a bit more light in the hole. You should be able to feel them - there’s 5 around the base of the seat tube.

I've got price lists for 1990-1995. The only model listed with Oria ML-34 is the 1993 Pinarello Team Banesto. A quick internet seach surfaces several different Banesto Replicas but the the ones with ML-34 appear to be a very good matrch outside of the paint job and amount of chrome. However, my price lists are for the USA and it's possible that Gita didn't import every model or that the Scandavian distributor had it tailored to their own specs. It's wouldn't be the first time that that we've seen European Pinarello models that weren't offered in the USA. FWIW, the Oria ML-34 was 2nd in the 1993 USA hierachy, with the Maxim (Columbus Max) being the only model above it.

Herre's a link to one of the Oria ML-34 Banesto frames: https://www.velosaloon.com/products/...-c-c-oria-ml34

If it was Montello or other model with SLX, there would also be five helical ridges on the inside of the bottom bracket end of the chain stays and it's obvious that they aren't present.

Progress.
so I finally got around to assemble the bike.

Sure, it won’t get downtube shifters, as far I have found out it never had them.
it will be a mix of Veloce, Chorus and Record.
wheels are Rigida (French?) but the rest will be Italian. German rubber on now but they will be replaced for some skinnier tires. 25’s look a bit MTB on it, no?
