Is it possible to share 2 GPS apps on a droid phone?
I want to have a GPS speedometer running so I can use my phone as a bike computer and I want to have a fitness tracking program running such as Map My Ride which will track my route and elevation and speed.
Is that possible without the 2 programs conflicting?
This is on a dedicated droid phone that isn't used for calls or internet other than wireless when I get to my house. I don't use it as a phone.
The 2 programs function fine by themselves but when I ran them together last night, they both appeared to function fine running concurrently however when I got home, mapmyride was unable to make a map, just sits there spinning but still had stats for the ride. I'm not sure if that was a by product of using both programs at the same time.

Check out Google's My Tracks. I found that it gives me everything I wanted. I still don't use it though, the Sigma 1009 on the bike suffices in most cases!

I LOVE My Tracks except for one huge glaring problem for me. It does NOT have average moving speed anymore. That stat was very important to me since I like to judge myself on how fast I can ride on a particular ride. But average speed does me no good when I make a lot of stops say to get a drink or just putz around. MapMyRide does the same thing with its "auto pause" feature. It pauses when it detects you are not moving.
