Howdy,
This Bianchi is listed on Craigslist in Palm Springs. The seller said he was gifted the bike and can not tell me much about it. No year, no model.
It looks real clean. But I don't know a thing about this bicycle. The ad says Bianchi, Formula Two, Columbus Foderi Forcella, $300
Any info greatly appreciated!!
Larry
I couldn't get the link to the ad. Sorry. But this is the bike in question.

I've seen that ad. I don't have any info on it. I'd say it's worth $300, but you could probably get it cheaper, because selling vintage bikes around here is like pulling teeth. I don't even bother trying anymore.

Yes! I am in Tempe, Az and have noticed the same thing. I can't sell anything used if it's priced over 100 bucks.
Young kids would rather use a credit card to buy a $2500 new machine at REI than ride a classic for pocket change.

My guess is late 80s mid range model. Crankset and brakes likely original. Groupset has been modernised with 8 speed Sora, which is not great. It has the crappy thumb button STI shifters and a plasticy mech.
Also, maybe the tires are good, but 23, very narrow, and cheapies.
I'm not sure if I would buy it as a project, but if it is set up well now, it would make a great rider. If it has issues i'd look for something higher spec, or with nicer more original parts, that is dirtier and cheaper.
So it depends on condition, especially of the wheels.

The Sora stuff kinda dampens my enthusiasm.

Thank you Bianchigirll for the great documentation!
What an asset you are to this forum.
I was actually guessing that this is a "bitsa" bike. Piece from here, piece from there.
Thank you your expertise.

The shifters are certainly ‘bista’ but I can’t tell much else from the pics.
