WTB: SR SP-11 Pedals

Anyone got a set hanging around? Rough or good condition as long as they are salvageable.

Thanks

Tom

This is my new favorite pedal. Honestly, I don't know how I've gotten along without a pair for so long. Perfect for a wide footprint & very comfortable. Reasonably lightweight. Good looking too, imo.

Good luck with the hunt.

You might want to provide a pic just to help yourself and others as much as you can.

MKS Ar-8 are also decent and easier to find.

Maillard CXC pedals are super but it's impossible to find the toe clips sometimes. My favorite are the Campy Triomphe...but the toe clip thing again...

And cheaper, but from looking at the photos, they look like they may be a tight fit for my size12 EE clod-hoppers. Looking for something that would work for
cleated cycling shoes as well as sneakers. Had SP-11's on the Shogun I sold last week.

I can post you a picture of a pair I recently dug out of a stash to get a closer look.

I have a pair of SP-11s but at the moment they are spoken for on one of my builds to be.

I love the SP-11 pedals- I also have a set of the outrageously expensive (and now discontinued) White Industries pedals- which are based on the SP-11s. I prefer the SP-11s.

If you're unable to find a decent set of SP-11s, the SP-11s are based on the Berthet Lyotard #23 pedals. In turn the MKS Urban Platform pedals are based upon a combination of the Berthet, SP-11 and WI pedals. I haven't had those- but they look nice.

There's also the pedal that followed the SP-11- the SP-155. Since you have big feet- you may need to file down the notch at the edge of the pedal- I don't have big feet, and it annoys me.

Good Luck!!!

The CXC cones are not (easily) replaceable.

I picked up a pair on a whim. Will likely use on my Austro Daimler build.

Thanks for the ideas. Lyotards are a no go... very narrow. MKS Urban don't seem to have a way to secure a cleat. There are a good number of SP-155's available, that may be an option

Pro-vic IIIs might be worth a look as well. Low quill and wide if I remember.

Two comparable options on eBay right now: one and two

Both are cheaper than either of the two sets I've purchased.

Note that set two is missing a dust cap.

Well, here's where I'm at. Based on the advice here, I picked up a pair of the CXC pedals off eBay. They arrived today.

And last night, for s**ts and giggles, I bid on a pair of SP-11's ..... never thinking I'd win and now I have a set of the SR's arriving soon'

Both ended costing about the same, in the $40-$45 range, shipped.

So, I'll do a comparison and the "loser" will end up listed here on C&V Sales, along with a pair of Superbe quill pedals.

Thanks for all the comments

Haha, I think you won those pedals from me...$29.00 I think. I was actually bidding on them for you! If I won I was going to send them to you at my cost.
