Cheap Brake Mod

I was having trouble stopping my winter beater with chrome rims and ancient brake pads. I tossed the chrome rims and installed alloy rims which helped a lot but the brake pads were probably age hardened. I had a set of spare V brake pads for my newer bikes so I tried them out and they work great. It's easy to get good alignment to the rim and the pads were only 5 bucks a set. If you're not concerned about original parts this is a cheap and easy mod.

I did the same for the centerpulls on my Moto Mirage. Works quite nicely. Fit like it was planned.
