I love the color, but Visp does not seem like a step up. I agree with "I Have a Bike" it's more of a step sideways.... Visps are known to be beefy aluminum frames... Save your $500 for a good leader if that's what your after.

I agree, side step. My leader was a side step from my Jamis...FUUU.
Anyway. It's not a bad parts list on there and it's a good looking bike. I wouldn't pay more then 350. They aren't Deep V's. Probably some super heavy knock offs.
Buy a Wabi.

A tad on the pricier side... I was like "hmmmm isn't this a FG/SS member's bike? huh? phil wood hubs?" Then "nvm they aren't phils, considering I have one right here next to me as a desk ornament while waiting on a build".

yea, thanks. The reason I was really interested in buying the visp is its aesthetically good looking, in my point of view. i like the tubing a lot, but ive always stayed away from aluminum frames...but thinking more about it, and im glad you guys talked me out of it, im no longer getting the visp, i am instead going to buy the wheelset(h+son/Dura-ace) il just upgrade the components on my madison.
now what should i upgrade next crankset?
its either those wheelsset of a chub hub rear to mavic omega wheelset for 400??

ugh. i don't like the chub hub. i'd stick to the hplussons and da hubs and just keep that for a while. nothing's wrong with your cranks.

It's gonna feel like a boat anchor with those B43's "son"... I'd definitely steer you towards Retrogressions FOER41 if you want a good weight+solid build+lighter weight.
Check out my Sig for a shot of the FOER41 rear on my Madison.

-friend got a visp frame, that sucker was crazy heavy for aluminum. about the same weight as a kilo, maybe a little less. aluminum fork and hi-ten steer tube is pretty crap
-don't think 7900s are track hubs. i think it's only 7600 (but i don't know the code for the low flange hubs). or 7500 (older ones that i have)
-I don't think it's worth spending another $200 to be on that visp. at best it would be a straight trade
-if you really want aluminum i'd rather go with the sst-al complete. seems like a great buy. carbon fork, formula hubs, tektro brake levers. just about all i'd want in a budget single speed.
-I have yet to handle foers, but they had some hanging up at a local shop. finish was pretty poor on it. however they're cheaper than velocities, and people seem to love them despite pretty subpar rims. I will say that the h+sons i've handled have had extremely nice finishes and have built very easily. I recently got a pair of TB14s and they are supremely nice. can't wait to build them up.
