Cape Henlopen (story on left) was precisely where I was.
Some crazy U-Boat stuff went on back then. One landed a few men off the coast of Florida. They had a list of targets to destroy. One of those targets was the Horseshoe Curve, just west of Altoona, PA. The Curve was part of the PRR’s main line that was critical for moving military equipment manufactured in the Detroit area for shipment to Europe.
Fortunately, the men were caught quickly, before they could do any damage.

Went with the "under promise and over deliver" tactic w Liz. Got a hall pass to ride outside, instead nudged her awake and told her I'd just on Zwift ITG and that she could message me at any time if baby wakes up. Hopefully she's in a good mood later; I'm sure that was a nice surprise.
EZ hour today, 3 hrs on the MTB yesterday with a buddy. After taking it easy the whole week, I felt great towards the end and sort of let loose on a 10' road climb. Passed some roadies wearing expensive kit which was delightful. I wonder if they're in that other thread about fancy kit.

My plan to move the hubs over to the new rims, with new spokes and nipples, is going great. I taped the new rims to the old wheels, aligning the valve hole of the new rim with the parallel spokes nearest to the logo on the hub - so I can look through the valve hole and see the logo, which I read somewhere on BF is mark of care in wheelbuilding.
Yesterday I did the front wheel, which is easier because it's symmetrical. One small drop of Triflow where the spoke enters the nipple on the old wheel (after rounding off the wrench flats on one nipple and having to get a screwdriver to loosen it). Then unscrew one nipple from one spoke on the old wheel, remove the spoke, grab a new spoke and feed it in, going over and under the other spokes the same as the spoke it replaced, find the hole on the new rim next to the empty hole on the old wheel, thread a new nipple onto it. Repeat 31 times. Once that's done, remove the tape and the old rim.
Voila! Something that looks remarkably like a bicycle wheel, but with practically no tension!
I spent the later part of the evening gradually increasing tension as evenly as I could, then truing it in the round and the flat. The tension is still way too low, but my Park TM-1 Tension Meter should arrive Monday. amazingly, when I checked the dish, it was spot on. Probably better check again, though.
I will do the rear wheel this afternoon, after I ride. That'll be fun! In doing the front wheel, I did all the spokes on one flange, then all the spokes on the other. That'll work well for the rear, since they get different lengths of spokes. The tension part will be tons of fun!

Unfortunately it’s already Sunday. Kinda late to begin the weekend.
22km on the mtb. Same route as last time, but I recorded it this time.
Bike was hosed down for the first time. I’m riding in dust. I need to get some fenders before the rain returns. ¿Recommendations?
The beauty of riding mtb is that I can do it sans glasses. Besides it’s being so much fun.

If you have not done so, you may want to go get an opinion from a university hospital academic rheumatologist who specializes in challenging and/or tough to treat patients with RA. Be sure to bring a full history of your relevant labs as well as a summary of treatments you have tried and what they did/did not do for your symptoms.
I have an appointment with my existing doctor in 2.5 weeks. I'll wait until then to reassess. My impression is that he's an OK doctor as far as treatment plan goes. But he's not easy to have a discussion with (seems kind of scatter-brained), and they are scheduling the appointments too far apart, given my issues. And seeing his noctor is a waste of time if things aren't going well.
