22-T cog for Raleigh 3-speed
I am restoring a 1973 Raleigh ladies Sport bike for my wife, and want to install a new 22-tooth cog on the original Sturmey-Archer hub. I see that 356cycles carries a "Sturmey Archer 1/8" 22t coaster brake cog." However, my bike does NOT have a coaster brake. Does anyone know if this will fit? When asked 365cycles got right back to me with this answer: "As long as the splines on your hub are the same as the 3 splines on this cog, it should work with your hub. " How would I know?
Thanks for any advice you can offer this bike-restoring newbie!

...those things are pretty universal, and a three splined cog fits on all sorts of coaster brake and IGH hubs. Look at your old cog, in place on your wife's rear hub. You should be able to make out that it has three little thingamabobs on it, and is held in place by a snap ring, which you can remove and reinstall with a couple of screwdrivers and some cursing, if you don't have a snap ring plier. They are reversible and offset a little bit, so you can pick the position that gives you the best chain line.

The Shimano Nexus cogs work, too, plus they’re dished and come in lots of different sizes:
