Identify this Miyata frame?

Finally have a "saved from the dump" bike. Found it on the curbside this week. The model decals are trashed. Serial # L279939, which gives a build date of 1983. The fork decal says 1024, but the frame does not seem heavy to me, compared to a lot of vintage bikes I restore. No idea what the main tubes are.

Not much to work from, but if you've got a clue ...

Looks like a model Ninety to me. It was their entry level road offering.
I don't know if it's the photo, but that rear triangle looks really widely spaced. Might wanna check the frame for alignment and proper spacing before building it.
Nice score!

It really wanted to be a vertical dropout.

At least you have nothing into it. A good 'practice' frame.

I was thinking a 110, but what's a couple digits? Could be what splayed out that DO also splayed out the chainstays (and all can be splayed back IN I expect)

haha, glad you caught that! I'd hate to start cleaning it up and working on it. Mounting a rear wheel often comes VERY late in my restoration process! the rear spacing would not have been a problem. I've spaced various Peugeots between 120-126-130 and back again as my whims (and wheel choices) fluctuate.

at least there was a very nice set of mtn bike wheels next to the frame, so it was worth the pickup.

and yes, the decal looks like "ninety". I assumed that was a partial name.

Yes, it would appear to be a Ninety based on the lack of bottle bosses. All the 1983 road models above the Ninety had brazed-on bottle bosses.

yes, I easily tapped it back into place. The hanger/dropout is a little "Z" shaped now, looking from behind, but it should do for friction shifting. The dropout width was about right at 125mm.
Btw, I collect lots of freebie's and recently found another home for them: Mikes Bikes for Africa
Last time I gave them a huge pile of frames, wheels, parts. This Miyata will probably go in the next pile I've already started.

You can find all the Miyata catalogues here: https://www.ragandbone.ca/Miyata/miyata_selector.html
If you look through them they usually show the colours for each model and year as well as pictures of the bikes which which should help identify your bike.
