The original stem was really rusty. It is the original fork.

There's so much to talk about with this fantastic composition. The bike is amazing with its black fork, the rust colored spider, the way the dropouts come together, and so much pink. But then you see it in this basement romper room that's ironically, both bright and awfully depressing. Just like the bike. So, who is Troy? Was he here before or after the apocalypse that created this photo op? If it were me, I'd add something in the foreground floor like a mannequin torso or the vinyl of Syd Barrett's first solo album. Hat's off to keep it more direct, simple and on-topic.

someone mentioned upright bars. I think they'd look great on that frame. A step-through townie in pink would be nice. Fenders too.

It's almost as though the back tire isn't flat, but is instead sinking into the still wet (and glistening) concrete floor.

Calling out for a good resto-mod, Shimano Di2 shifters would really shave off some seconds in a pitched up hill battle for that KOM jersey.

I was just thinking about a red Columbia like that that was rusting away in my dad's junk pile when I first got into cycling (but it was a man's frame). I was intrigued by fixed gear riding and we made it into a fixie by welding the 5-speed freewheel onto the hub and spokes. Ah, good times.

Is this real? What is real? Besides the deep, reflective life questions this bike inspires, I must say that downtube to headtube transition is quite nice. I'm most curious about what the person you gave it away to looks like. I like to match a bike with a face. In spite of everything, that took effort. Trust me, I would know.

I nominate this for post of the year.
