How do I find the pedal threading for my crank?

I'm looking for pedals to go with a crank I just got. The only markings on the arms are the arm length, unfortunately. It's a Sugino Proto, but it's square taper alloy, not the cottered steel version on VeloBase. Is this late enough to be 9/16 or could it be 1/2 or something else?

Basically Sugino three cranks take standard threaded 9/16 pedals so you can buy whatever modern pedals you want.

9/16, only one piece (Ashtabula) cranks are 1/2 inch.

Find anything that has a diameter = 1/2". It won't fit into a 1/2" thread, and will just barely pass through a 9/16" thread.
