Road Cycling “It is by riding a bicycle that you learn the contours of a country best, since you have to sweat up the hills and coast down them. Thus you remember them as they actually are, while in a motor car only a high hill impresses you, and you have no such accurate remembrance of country you have driven through as you gain by riding a bicycle.” -- Ernest Hemingway

I think a co worker of mine who lives in Austin is going to fly out and drive with me to Dallas. I really don’t want to stop, so I am hoping we can push through.

Do you remember that tree limb that the ice storm earlier this week brought down on my garage?

Aw, geez! I mentioned a couple days ago that somebody's selling a 1989 Schwinn Circuit in my size, after I spent all that time and effort getting a frame in my size with no fork and a larger frame with a fork, and then taking all that down to a framebuilder in the Southbay who has now cut and rethreaded the fork so I have a full frame and fork in my size to swap the parts form the whole bike that's too small for me?

Well, last I knew they were wanting $500 + $80 to ship. Now they're down to an initial bid of $300 + $80. If that had been listed 3 weeks ago, I'd have jumped on it.

Stupid Question of the day:

How much do you think I would notice running a left hand 172.5 and a right hand 175mm?

Might be able to get a power meter for a good price and would run it until I could get proper cranks.

I don't know how much you would notice it, but I expect it would be an "oh, hell no", for me.

No Chucks here either and I mostly turned out okay.

My concern would be that it might not feel too weird but might cause weirdness with the joints. I have no particular reason to think that, though.

I don’t ride the checkpoint everyday. It would just be temporary until I could find some cranks, I just didn’t know if it would be crazy or if maybe it wouldn’t even really be a bother.

My cranks were installed not aligned on my emonda and I prolly rode 350 miles like that. It felt weird but I couldn’t figure it out.

Go hang out in General. Someone will be along who might be willing. You might have to go to Dubai, however.

Me, too. There is no possible way that I could do that without serious issues.

Anything that can cause an imbalance or the favoring of one side could be a problem. Probably not in his case, though.

This guy will cheer you up. He is coming over to be fostered for the weekend. His main foster parent is going out of town and we said we would take him in. He's looking for a forever home. He's 10 years old and 20 pounds.

If I did, it wouldn't be accomplished via dog. No offense.
