Problem Solvers 50mm Wide Cable Carriers?

I'm interested in these Problem Solvers 50mm Wide Cable Carriers (please see picture). My cantilever brakes are hard to keep centered, and with these cable carriers you can supposedly push the straddle cable back and forth to center the brakes and it doesn't move. Has anyone had any experience with these, and it that true? Are the carriers any good? Problem Solvers have stopped making them-- anybody know why?

I like them and use them on my bikes, I was sad to see that they were discontinued. They work well and make adjustment a snap. Perhaps they had quality issues, I had to return one because the threaded hole wasn't tapped deep enough. It looks like there were a lot of machining operations/tool changes, maybe they were not cost-effective.

If your cantis are that hard to keep centered, it might be a good idea to disassemble, clean, and lube them.

Those are definitely a gorgeous piece of machine work, but would look out of place on a classic bike. Their marketing demise is probably from the fading use of center-pull brakes, somewhat like that of 26" wheels. Also, there must be millions of the simple stamped saddles around that are functional and cannot be worn out.

centering?

are your brake pad carriers equally set on the arms?if one is further than the other it will keep from being centered.https://www.bikeride.com/adjust-cantilever-brakes/
