Vintage Pinarello Treviso or Catena Lusso identification-help?
Hi,
I was fortunate enough to receive a red vintage Pinarello bike recently. But I encountered some difficulties in identifying the model and year. Please help!
Current finds:
1.Original seller listed as mid 80 Pinarello Treviso.
2.GPT logo on fork crown
3.no GPT on seat stay caps
4.Seat Tube rip sticker that looks like a Columbus TRETUBI
5.Seat post diameter as 27.0
6.One bottle mount
7.One chrome chain stay
8.Frame code: (C)G514
I do have photos in detail, however I am too new to the forum and can't post any url or photos...

Trevisos typically had the GPT logo on the seat stay caps, so possibly a Catena Lusso.
Also, a Treviso would have Columbus SL tubes, where the 27.0 ID suggests Aelle.
You will be able to upload photos to your album, from there a friendly forum member can post them here.

Suggest you go to this Bike forum manufacturer page https://www.bikeforums.net/classic-v...t-w-links.html
I can see Pinarello 2 (1982) has link to Catena Lusso : https://www.velo-pages.com/main.php?g2_itemId=67909

Catena Lusso looks like a safe bet to me, here's the catalog image: https://bulgier.net/pics/bike/Catalo...arello85/3.jpg
Could the serial number start with GG per chance? This would be more in line with Pinarello's mid-80's serial number format.
There looks to be a crack in the seat lug near the drive side seat stay cap - I hope it's not, but please check before bombing down a hill. (Wasn't Giovanni's best brazing job there, was it?)

And serial could be GG though the first letter was almost unreadable.
I also found the crack when taking these photos. I have double checked from the inside of seat tube and it seems fine. So I believe it is a scratch on the painting of lug, hope I am lucky.
