Problem with Schwinn Forums
I'm not sure if any others are members here, but I wanted to post my Schwinn Triplet there and the login refuses to accept me. I've gotten address changes by email and carefully copy/pasted my password and ID into the login screen, but it always tells me I'm invalid. Does this happen to anyone else?

I had the same problem for about 6 weeks as have had many of the administrators. The real administrator is on maternity leave. I suggest you get a new pass word and the wait 4 or 5 days before you use it. That was what finally got me in and I have managed to stay on the last 2 weeks using the "remember me" feature. What interested me is they are using the same software as this forum and they never seem to have problems here. Here they were down a couple of days to install the newest software version last Fall and it took Schwinn 6 weeks to get to the same place. Then when Keri the administrator went on maternity leave it has gone down hill. Hopefully she will come back or they will hire a HS student who can make things work again. Roger

I actually have waited for long periods between attempts and it hasn't helped.
Thanks for letting me knows it's a system problem and not just me.

Were you already registered, or did you just request a new password?
I just went over to the Schwinn Forums to register (recently picked up a 60s Schwinn Speedster and am bound to have questions). After completing the online registration, I first got an email with a link to confirm registration. This brought me back to the Schwinn Forums website where I received the following: "Thank you for registering, gaucho753. Your account has been submitted for moderation by an administrator and will be activated shortly. You will be notified by email when this happens." Could it be that you are still awaiting administrator approval?

Kurt - I'm sure you pull weight there...tell them to fix it or else you pull your Paramounts off of the site.

Hardly. Over there, Paramounts are novelties only by virtue of their top-end status in Schwinn's lineup. The Krate fellows who dominate the forum do like them (and occasionally collect one or two to display amongst their Krates), but most do not seem to understand the finer points of a nice roadbike. Nevertheless, I don't fault them for it - everyone should collect what they like, period.

I'm sure they're equally perplexed at our habits for paying $150 for a used Brooks saddle as we are of their appetite for expensive banana seats.
All in good fun - though I still can't figure out why they insist on NOS, galvanized Union spokes for Stingray/Krate/Fastback restorations. That will puzzle me forever...

Still - at least our saddles were designed to be ridden by adults.

If you can't find what you need here (though here are quite a few Schwinn folks on this forum), then try this:

OT but Stone's Cyclery in Alameda Ca. Has a triplet much like yours above the door to their shop. It looks new.

My problem with that forum is the corporate stifling that abounds there. I have not logged on in over a year, and not posted since 3 or more IIRC? You say one bad word about Pacific being lower quality (which they are) and your posts disappeared. I had the webmaster (or was it a moderator?) try to publicly embarrass me ON the message board, and that was the last straw pretty much. I no longer felt like my participation was needed. I realized a lot of the members over there were also here, so it felt like nothing changed.,,,,BD

I've been having trouble there for months. Couldn't log in, changed password - that didn't work, created new account, changed password again and it worked, had two working accounts for a week or two but now I can't get in with either of them. I gave up and started collecting road bikes so I can continue to hang out here...

I remember hearing about a place in Ohio that has one too. They're fun to ride and I really enjoy mine...the hard part is finding a third person.

I could not log on to the Schwinn forum either. Like the previous posters, I went through the "forgot my password" and "change password" routines, and then the new passwords didn't work, either.
I don't know about the "corporate stifling" that BD recounted, but I have noticed there is less useful information on my Schwinns there than there is here. I don't own any Krates, nor wish to.
I really wanted to say "Yes, I have no bananas (seats)", but in fact, I do have one that is destined to go on the lone StingRay I still have, to be cleaned up and sold as soon as I can unload it.
