SOLD 1983 Colnago Super Fork 55cm to 57cm

For sale - 1983-1986 Colnago Super Fork 55cm to 57cm: $50.00 plus < $15.00-$20.00 shipping - US only, PayPal Friends & Family or local pickup.

This fork came out of my 56cm 1983 Colnago Super that I sold to a friend a few months back. I'm selling the fork for him. Not perfect but very usable and reasonably priced for a REAL Colnago fork. It's being replaced with a NOS Colnago factory made fork that I had sitting around for about 10 years.

Colnago used this style aero fork crown from 1983 until at least 1986. It will also work on an older Colnago frame too. The steerer fits a 55cm to 57cm frame, maybe even 58cm. It's made of Columbus SL and is properly aligned, the crown was refaced and the threads are good.

When I got the frame in 2006 there was some surface rust in the chrome on the crown plus the drive side lower fork blade from cable wraps used to mount a speedometer. I cleaned it up and rode it that way for 15 years - it passes the 10 foot test and could be easily replated.

700c x 28mm tires clear nicely, 700c x 32mm may even fit???

Pro quality headsets have a 38mm to 42mm stack height. The current headset is 42mm high with several 1mm spacers at the top.

Easy way to measure the steerer and head tube to determine stack height.

Maybe I missed it, but what is the steerer tube and thread length? I have a Colnago frame that is languishing without a fork. It’s a 57 so this should work, but I’d like to check your measurements against what I need. And BTW, I’ve used your stack height photo to measure HS needs for other frames. Thanks

That's a great deal. Too bad you don't have a Ciocc fork for a 58cm frame!

This will get you where you want to be for now. Just keep an active watch for the correct one (which should be fully-chromed, too). Over time, one will pop up - they always do. Then you can either pass this one to someone like you looking for just the right fork, or keep it as a spare.

Finally, the geometry will not be any different, so the ride - the most important thing - will not suffer. That's the best news of all.
