Diagram/parts list for Sturmey Archer SRK5 rear hub
Sturmey Archer rear igh hub - 5 speed - disc brake version - indicator chain shift (not RK type).
looking for a parts list or diagram.
Or is the indicator rod the same as other SA hubs? This one is rusted solid, as is the disc caliper and disc. I've never had an SA so new.

I found the catalog (2012-2913 that includes the discontinued SRK5) that lists 4 numbers for 5 speed hub indicator pins in 4 colors? Are they all the same size?
HSA585 yellow
HSA651 green
HSA712 blue
HSA717 purple

If the colour on the indicator line is still visible, you should have your answer. Otherwise, pull it out and measure.

Thanks for the info, the different colors are different lengths.
The current indicator rod is solid rust. But i did find the specs (page 55) n the 2012 catalog that states colors. Of course there are 2 versions of the SRK5 hub: W & N. Same specs. Same axle, old, same ratios. ??? For some reason the only difference is the smallest possible cog size. But fortunately both state purple indicators.

Back to working on this bike. New disc, caliper and indicator rod. I took it for a test ride and it's skipping and jumping in first gear only. Time to take it apart. Given the neglectful history, I suspect there is rust build up in the hub somewhere.

I took the hub apart today. Most of the parts look fine. There is a chrome piece that fits over the pawls on the driver that was a bit mangled. I straightened it up quite a bit but it still skips sometimes when put in first gear and I start pedaling. Better than what it was doing before, skipping in first gear most of the time. This part is not in the diagram or parts list. It sits between the driver and the clutch. No idea what it is called, the part number or where I can get another. It turns to restrain the pawls at certain times or in certain gears.

Ah, the infamous HSA470 Actuator Plate. It's part of the #16 subassembly in the diagram. Available individually.

After fully dismantling the hub and then watching the previous video, it's a pretty easy part to replace. You don't have to remove the guts.
Remove the axle nuts and anti-rotation washers
The axle has flat sides so you can put the left end of the axle in a bench vise without messing up the threads.
Unscrew the indicator rod,
remove the right side locknut(s) [17mm wrench]
remove rectangular locking washer
remove bearing cone [16mm cone wrench]
and lift the driver out.
The plate just slips off/on the driver when turned to a certain angle.
Aaron Goss has the part. $14 shipped
