Garmin Varia 510 Charge Challenges
I have a Varia 510 and LOVE It! It's about 3 years old.
However, it has developed quite a "personality" with charging in the past year. Although the charge port is clean, oftentimes when I connect the cable the unit will flash green (charging) for a few seconds or a minute, then changes to solid red (error). If I "play" with the connection (like jiggling a key in a stubborn lock), sometimes I can get it to charge sustainably but it has become more and more stubborn. This occurs with the GARMIN supplied charge cord AND a few other similar ones I have lying around and have tried.
Before I go down the rabbit hole that is Garmin customer service, any suggestions or comments??

Why is Garmin Customer service a rabbit hole? Only once in a blue moon do I get a rep that I feel had no clue about what he was talking about. Usually they are a big help.
If you have a good camera on your phone or just a good camera with a macro setting then zoom in on the cable ends and the usb port on the Varia and make sure everything is clean and not bent. Or a real magnifying glass if you have one.
