This seems pretty fair to me. I don't think the Klein frames have a strong following in the Classic market.

I would take it great frame for the price. But maybe negotiate to one fork and no extras for $50-100 less just right fork frame and you figure out the rest.. Shipping is a killer right known extra fork could add $50 with none junk if your not careful. Someone sells you $50-200 of good stuff and tags you an extra $100-150 and $75 shipping.

I think your reply considers me to be the buyer? I am the seller. It is the first actual offer I have received in several months of listing.

Ok, well I decided to accept the offer inclusive. I didn’t want to kill the deal and wait another 6 months. The frame was too big for my use. It is shipping cross country. I’ll take the fork off and try to grab a frame box from a local bike store.

Gppd you found a buyer and got a nice sale.
I have owned a few Klein bikes and they are very nice rides, light and stiff.
The steels and carbons are preferred by the majority of riders.
In the 2002+ models, Klein replaced 6061 aluminium alloy with a new alloy called ZR 9000, that used zirconium in place of chromium; the new alloy had not been assigned an industry number and it was named after the unused 9000 series.
I have a 2006 Dedacci Aluminum Italian racer that rides wonderful on par with my steels and TI bikes.
Love the color of this offering.

yeah, if the frame had fit me, i would have kept it. also, being a dump pick, i didn't have any value to recover, so a lower offer is better than no offer.

congratulations — it sounds like you found the right fool. Probably had one in college and now wants to relive old times now that he’s doing well
otherwise, not worth $200 as is

This means that my Klein with DA components and without any blemish is worth far more - good to know; I have to reduce numbers of my bicycles.

When it comes to OS alloy frames the Klein's are the best of the bunch so they do get fairly nice premium even in this soft also big bonus if you have one with really nice paint while great looking the paint on most of them was thin and scratched pretty easy. Rare to see one that doesn't have scratches or dings the scratches and light dings won't hurt ride value but a can take big bite out final sale prices

Agree. My last Klein Mtb that was a full setup XTR did not even get the price that this frame sold for.

It is currently hanging up in my garage behind 3 other bikes. One day when I pull it to ride, I might take a photo and post it here.

Congrats! You are very very lucky to get anywhere near $600 for that.

With good paint and full matching DA components including wheels stem and seat post. I could see $1000-1200 for one of these to the right buyer.

well, it took several months listed on eBay. It is being shipped to Washington state, so costing $100. I have to pay eBay and the taxmen, so probably netting about $400.
but, good to have saved it from being crushed, I was able to learn and share, and someone who wanted it found it.
I hope it arrives safely, and the buyer doesn’t pull a “ not as described” return request!

My gut feeling is that it is unlikely to happen.

I didn’t realize that eBay kept $100 for every $600, that’s pretty steep.

eBay is 13.25% (assumes a bike frame doesn’t fall under a different category) on total less tax. State of WA collects 6.5% which the buyer typically pays so maybe the pre-tax sale amount was really ~$564.

I bought a smaller earlier frame that my wife rides and really likes, it was complete except for wheels, i got it for $150.00 local no shipping of course.. these are nice bikes from this experience, i would like one in my size , but im not paying up for one, there are still some out there barely ridden so maybe one will pop up in my area... then wifey and i can wear matching sweaters when we ride .....
I think you did well to get that for it.
