Hackensack Horror Ride -- Pictures

So I just got back from a bike ride in Hackensack, New Jersey -- for those of you who know Hackensack, that's not the horror part. This is what I found there. Be warned, the following pictures may be upsetting to the sensitive.

Hackensack, a typical American town, or is it?

I came upon a street with a strange name

I parked my improved Schwinn Varsity -- no, riding a Varsity is not horror -- and I went for a walk

This "guy" is modeling the latest in boy-racer cycling wear.

The zombie chic on the left tried to ride off with my Schwinn, but her leg detached, and she didn't get far.

When I was a boy, I saw that mummy movie with Boris Karloff, it gave me nightmares for weeks. Hold me.

Seem to have run aground.

Their bad luck.

Barbie has a problem.

So I said to Frank, "What's wrong, Frank? Girlfriend problems?" He replied. "She HATE ME ARRRHHHG!"

To be continued........

Man, I wish my neighborhood was like that. I have never even had a trickortreater. I think I am the only guy in a mile radius that even carves a pumpkin

The happy couple.

The guy on the left looks like Don Johnson. He seems to be decaying nicely.

I'll never go to the dentist again.

Before or after treatment?

Someone once accused me of being a "Dead Beat". I don't think this is what he had in mind.

Speaking of "The Dead", Jerry still looks pretty good -- considering.

Do you know anyone who isn't cranky when they get up?

We finally had a trick or treater last year. We've lived here for 5 years and that was the first one.

My sister lived in North Carolina for 5 years when her husband's employer transfered him down there. She told me that the majority of her neighbors were evangelical religious fanatics who believed that Halloween was a form of satanic worship.

Here are some "nice" Halloween displays. These are the type of decorations my mother would put up for Halloween.

Plenty of room for bicycles in the back of this thing.

Changing baby's diaper.

This is not a Halloween display. This is what happens to cagers that cut me off.

Rats, nature's clean-up crew.

This year's candidates for town council.

Anthony works in the grocery store
Savin' his pennies for someday
Mama Leone left a note on the door,
She said,
"Sonny, move out to the country."
Workin' too hard can give you

You oughta know by now
Who needs a house out in Hackensack?
Is that all you get for your money?
-Billy Joel "movin' Out"

I'm not to far from hackensack either...

There is a house on my way to work in Riverdale that does stuff for Halloween (and christmas) but not as elaborate as that..

I have to check it out this weekend. I like Hackensack and it's a nice neighborhood. It's very close to those three malls but it's waaaay to far for me since I work in the city. Who would have have believed this could happen in Hackensack, New Jersey of all places!
