I had one a couple years ago. It was hot pink to purple fade with yellow font. Like you, did a full overhaul, then rode it all over the place. Finally sold it.

I plan to share these in the Vintage Mountain Bikes thread when complete, but since the topic came up, here's the bike I bought about three weeks ago on craigslist for my daughter, who, like her brother, has outgrown her bike with 20" wheels. I plan a full overhaul, but that can probably wait until winter. All it really needed right away was a different saddle. It has 3x7 trigger shifters and what appears to be the original Shimano 200GS group.
I also bought a dark teal Hard Rock GX of similar vintage for my son in a different CL deal. It was in more "used" condition, so he and I have already started some work on it and I expect it to be as good as new when finished. Here's a sneak peek.
I thought these were smarter buys than new kids' bikes with heavy suspension forks and disc brakes and so forth, and my kids and I can have fun working on them and learning about bike maintenance and repair.
I look forward to seeing how your $25 Hard Rock Ultra turns out.

@Squeeze Nice finds for the kids!Yeah if I was in your position, I'd also get a classic and not the newer bikes, specially from the big box stores. Plus the child/parent interaction is priceless.
Thanks and will be updating this thread as the rebuild goes along.
