100% agree re: the Brompton 'pentaclip'. In my short tenure with a Brompton, it was revelatory...also, the price is eye-watering compared to the common stamped steel ones.

That said, if you've got a 7/8" seatpost and a challenging fit, it's the best you'll be likely to find easily. It may even work with the flat rails, if you file out the clamps.

Campagnolo 2 bolt is the best design IMO.

1 bolt Laprade style, 2 bolt Campagnolo style or even a 2 bolt sliding arc style, it doesn't matter to me, as long as it is not a stamped steel, multi-piece clamp. I'm not worried about the weight, it is just such a clunky solution for a seat to seat post interface.



Thanks for pointing us to the article @Korina. Seatposts may be under appreciated. The article was good at showing that there was and is some creative and clever solutions.
